#8 Wow, that is amazing!! Once I figured out how to translate from Spanish to English, I tried other languages it was so much fun. We have some foreign speaking people coming in a times, this will be so valuable. Also I experimented on the page in google.translate box from English in one box to another language in the other and it worked beautifully. It seems there is instant translation right on the spot. I will use this every chance I get. Thank You very much.

This is something I have done many times. Bring up the Chilton sight select the year, make, model of the car you are looking for, then the specific repair you are looking for. Then you can make copies that the patron can take home with them. That saves our books from getting greasy while the repairs are going on. Great idea.

E-Readers

I didn't find that "Consumer Report" had much to say about the type of e-reader to buy, but I would prefer one that is compatible with lots of sources. Such as the library and on line books. The one that I know about is the Nook, so I think that would be my first choice.

This was awesome! I loved the way you could look back in time and see life as it was and learn historical things long forgotten. I traveled in time to the 1930, 40's, 50's. This will be living history for students doing research or just browsing. So nice. The cooking temp for pork is 160, that could be very helpful for a culinary student or young cooks just learning. Very informative.

Just finished searching the new OPAC, I put 3 holds on DVD's each was easy to understand if you take you time and read. When I put Upstairs Downstairs on hold I couldn't figure out how to put a specfic season on hold, but I kept looking until I found what to do. It is quite different than what we are used to but I think it will be wonderful once we get used to it. I found that I could put things on DVD instead of VHS and narrow down my search. It was quite fun.

Wow, I finally did it. With Neal's help. Off of overdrive I downloaded a Louis Lamour book. Now I'm going to get my mp3 and see if I can put it on there and listen to it. I think I can help someone else now (maybe). It was fun.

I found the Optimal Resume to be a little daunting at first, but as I kept trying it began to flow. There are many helpful boxes that you can look at to know what an employer wants and what will get there attention. This can be very helpful to all of us who need to help others or ourselves.

Tests are not my favorites, but I did look up what it took to be a realtor. I was surprised what is expected and what it takes to be succeed in a very competitive business, especially in the economy that home selling is facing. Also to save you and the buyers time that they need to be preapproved loan from a lending firm before they will even show you property. It was an interesting read.

E-Books

The past couple weeks I kept going back and forth the e-books and seeing what ones I am more impressed with. They each have good ideas, I love the large print that would be great for sight impaired (thinking of homebound of course). And that they hold an entire book you can take in a small pocket. Also I went through the selection we have in our collection of e-books. I just bought a mp3 and can't use it on many if any of them. But it is very helpful to see how it is done and how we can help our patrons to use more of our resources.

Books to download, the steps were pretty easy. It took a few times to figure out but I got right up to downloading it and stopped. I will try later to put it on my mp3 player.

#13 This was interesting! I listened to Sound Art, Sonic Art. Also Jamendo. The sound art was good if you want to have strange noises on your phone or to put it on a program to make a point. The Jamendo played the music and had the lyrics, but I didn't like the song I heard, I'm sure if I took more time I might find something more pleasing that I would want to download.

This site will be very handy for my patron on homebound. I looked on yellowbook about Nicholas Sparks. I told about the new movies they were making with his books. The new book coming out and his very interestine bio. Many of my patrons enjoy these things and it will help me keep up to date on there new projects.

Wow, this was an interesting site. The information is vast, I looked at newspapers and found tons of articals that some patrons may want to look up spicific news articles or sports. Can be very useful. They make is so easy to send to your email or print the article.

I seem to be stuck on this one, but I do find it interesting. To get great ideas and compare with others and add to theirs. I went into the music which I didn't quite understand how it worked. It will come in handy when we have legal questions of copyright laws. And it's free!!

#7 This site really helps if you can't go to a book group of club and share what you've read. Also it gives comments about books you may not heard of in the type you like to read. It's wonderful for helping others find new authors in the type of books they like. Very helpful.

# 6 There is a greater demand for new knowledge on sites for reference and we need to keep up with the demand. Many of the questions we may have to dig for in order to understand. The next generation coming up has used computers since they were baby's so we must be aware of what is offered so we can help them and others.

Between the two there seems not a lot of difference. I do like the feature that you can put multiple holds in the book bag. Many of my patrons like series and I could put them all together and just request what they want each time without trying to keep it on paper. I appreciate learning what we have.

I do enjoy Pandora because if you get tired of some kinds of music with a push of a button can completely change, just like a moon. Sometimes I like soothing classical, then the next time I like something happier. Oldies are usually upbeat and make me work faster. Then sometimes I don't want any music at all. Love to listen to Josh Groben.
